Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, including local storage and tracking pixels, do much the same job. This policy covers all of them and should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

Almost everything Vantage sets is first-party: stored under our own domain and read only by us. The one exception is the Meta pixel described in Section 5, which runs on our public marketing pages and never inside the signed-in product. We never sell your data.

Wherever the law requires us to ask, nothing beyond the strictly necessary cookies loads until you have made a choice. You can change that choice whenever you like on Your privacy choices. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal we treat it as a binding opt-out of advertising, without you having to do anything at all.

We use PostHog to understand how the product is used. It sets a first-party cookie so we can recognise your browser across visits and tell a returning athlete from a new one. Analytics traffic goes to ph.vantage-recruiting.com, a subdomain of our own site.

PostHog receives your account ID, the details on your recruiting profile (graduation year, position, school, GPA), and a record of the actions you take: pages viewed, onboarding steps finished, emails generated and sent, schools added to your list. It records the fact that you wrote an email and how long it was. It never receives the subject, the body, or the coach’s address.

PostHog processes this only on our instructions, under contract. It does not use your information for its own purposes and does not share it with anyone else.

PostHog also records sessions: a reconstruction of the pages you saw and the clicks, scrolls, and taps you made. We use these to find broken and confusing parts of the product. They are not reviewed routinely, and they are never used to monitor an individual person.

Recordings are kept for 30 days and then deleted automatically. If you would like the recordings associated with your account removed sooner, email us and we will delete them, and deleting your account removes them along with everything else.

While we are running ads, our public pages (the homepage and the recruiting guides) can load the Meta pixel. It tells us how many people who saw one of our ads went on to create an account, so we know whether our advertising is worth running. When we are not advertising, it is not configured and does not load at all.

It is the only third-party technology on the site, and it is scoped deliberately: it loads on the homepage and the guides, and nowhere else. It does not run on your dashboard, your profile, the email writer, onboarding, or any settings page. That scoping matters because most of the people using the signed-in product are minors, and we are not willing to send their activity to an ad network.

It also only loads with your consent. Decline advertising and no Meta cookie is ever set, no pixel script loads, and the conversion events we would otherwise send from our server are suppressed too.

Recruiting emails you send through Vantage carry an invisible tracking pixel and rewritten click-through links. When the coach opens your email or follows a link, we record it and show it to you on your Activity page. This is a core product feature rather than a cookie, and switching it off would remove the tracking you subscribed for.

We filter out opens caused by corporate scanners and mail-security tools, so the counts you see reflect real people.

The Vantage iOS app does not use cookies, but it does use the same PostHog analytics and session recording described above, with the same masking of typed text plus additional masking of images. It does not use the Meta pixel, does not use the advertising identifier, and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, which is why it shows no App Tracking Transparency prompt.
